South West Coast Path

Introduction

Having a map on the wall where we could mark our walks was a great way to see our progress. This also helped us select the next part to walk.

We did not just march through from one end to the other. Depending how we felt and the time we had we picked a part of the coast path we haven’t walked yet.

Information

630 mile journey. We have used this site extensively. It is useful to check for any last diversions before you set out.

Travel

Although possible on some parts of the coast, not having to do a circular walk is key. We tend to drive to one location, get a bus to the starting point and walk back to the car. For public transport try the Traveline website.

Maps

The OS app has been great to have the latest maps at our fingertips while walking. If you may have issues with data you can download offline sections.

Other mapping and how we started was the likes of Google amd Bing. Although Google has some very good maps and seem to have the latest and most detailed aerial photography, Microsoft with Bing maps are extremely useful as when you zoom in you can select the ordinance survey maps. This helps when working out the gradiants and which side of the wall the path goes.
